Nan's Christmas Cherry Drops

One of the cookies Norm's mom made for Christmas season desserts.
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • pinch of salt
  • candied cherry pieces
  1. Cream butter in mixer until fluffy.
  2. Still beating, add the sugar gradually.
  3. Beat in egg yolk thoroughly.
  4. Add flour and salt.
  5. Remove bowl from mixer.
  6. Wrap dough and chill 3 hours.
  7. Form dough into small balls.
  8. Place on baking sheet.
  9. Press two ways with a fork.
  10. Place pieces of candied red or green candied cherries in centre of each cookie.
  11. Bake in preheated 325 degree F oven for 15 minutes or until done.
