Nan's Christmas Cherry Drops

One of the cookies Norm's mom made to serve with coffee or tea after dinner on Christmas.
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • pinch of salt
  • candied cherries
Cream butter in mixer until fluffy.
Still beating, add the sugar gradually.
Beat in egg yolk thoroughly.
Add flour and salt.
Chill 3 hours.
Form into small balls.
Place in baking sheet.
Press two ways with a fork.
Decorate with pieces of candied red or green candied cherries.
Bake in preheated 325 degree F oven for 15 minutes.
