One of my students' parents brought in this cold grilled chicken for a staff luncheon near the end of the school year; everyone wanted the recipe for the marinade. The chicken was grilled on a hibachi over hot (white) charcoal briquettes.
Marinade chicken at least 2 hours in a mixture of:
- 1 cup soya sauce
- 1 mashed clove garlic
- 2 tbsp oil
- 1/3 cup honey
- piece of fresh ginger root, mashed
- splash of rye whiskey
Remove chicken from marinade, grill on hibachi.
