Little Brown Sugar Drop Cookies

  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup softened butter
  • 1 large beaten egg
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • pinch of baking soda
  • 2 pinches salt
  1. Cream together sugar, butter, salt, baking soda and beaten egg.
  2. Gradually add sifted flour, mixing after each addition.
  3. Drop batter by small teaspoonfuls (batter should be the size of a nickel) 2 inches apart on well-greased cookie sheet.
  4. Bake one cookie sheet at a time in preheated 350 degree oven about 5 minutes
  5. Remove cookies from the hot cookie sheet immediately, using a spatula.
  6. Cool on cooling rack.
  7. Batter can be mixed a day ahead, covered, and refrigerated overnight before baking.
