Recipe #1
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup salt
- 2 tbsp. cream of tartar
- 2 tbsp. vegetable oil
- 1 cup water (add drops of food coloring if you like)
Stir over medium-high heat about 5 minutes, until playdough gets lumpy and comes away from the sides of the pot.
Turn dough out onto a cutting board and when cool enough to touch, knead it smooth.
Microwave instructions:
Combine ingredients in a casserole dish.
Cook on high 1 minute.
Stir and scrape dough away from sides of bowl.
Cook on medium 1 minute; stir and scrape again
Cook on medium 2 minutes
Remove from microwave and knead by hand when cool enough to touch.
Play with it right away or store in a plastic bag in the fridge till used.

- 1 cup white flour
- 1/4 cup salt
- 2 Tbsp cream of tartar
- 1 cup water
- 2 tsp vegetable food colouring
- 1 Tbsp vegetable oil
Combine flour, salt and cream of tartar.
Stir food colouring into water.
Stir water and vegetable oil into flour mixture.
Cook on the stove over medium heat, stirring, about 3-5 minutes.
Mixture becomes a globby mass but then will form a ball in the centre of the pot.
Turn it out and knead on a lightly floured surface.
Store in an airtight container or plastic bag until use.
