Days after the 30-day warranty for the latest repair on my KitchenAid Superba Double Wall Ovens expired--the oven died again! There is no power to the unit so it looks like the oven fuse has blown again (it has been replaced several times for several hundred dollars in labour and parts charges.)
I have had more hassle over these ovens--I won't get them repaired again. But to buy a new double oven unit is expensive before Christmas, and I will have to arrange to be home for installation.
I can't just replace the unit with an ordinary range because my kitchen isn't configured that way--I would have to do a total kitchen makeover, with a new countertop. Aargh!
So no Christmas baking, unless I lug all my pans and ingredients over to Mom's and do it there.
I have had so much trouble with this KitchenAidi appliance and always at a bad time of year--Thanksgiving, Christmas, the fall family birthdays....
But I have learned through unfortunate experience that you can cook an entire family feast using a tabletop electric roaster, a toaster oven and a microwave. I hope your holiday celebration preparations are calamity-free.
