Use to flavor icing sugar
1 Tbsp real vanilla extract
Parchment paper
Mix the powdered sugar with vanilla to make a paste.
Spread onto a sheet of parchment paper.
Allow to air dry for a day or so.
To dry more quickly, line a baking sheet with parchment paper and spread paste on this to dry in a warm oven at low temperature.
When dry, crumble into bits and then use the back of a spoon to crush to a powder.
Press through a sieve to ensure a fine texture.
If mixture still feels moist, let dry again before storing for future use.
Add 1 Tbsp prepared vanilla sugar to 1 cup plain icing sugar to flavor icing sugar for dusting on cookies and cakes.
