Winter Recipe: Oven-Baked Cola Ribs

BBQ Guy insists that the only way to make good ribs is on the bbq. My dad likes them done this way, in the oven. I'm not standing outside in the snow to barbeque, so I vote for oven-baked in the winter. BBQ Guy would throw on some Frank's hot sauce 15 minutes before taking these out of the oven.

  • 4 lbs ribs
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 2 thinly sliced onions (optional)
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cans (500 ml) Cola (not sugar-free)
  • 200 ml ketchup
  • 1 tbsp prepared Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon each salt and pepper

Brown the ribs in oil, then remove and place in roasting pan (you can line the pan with aluminum foil for easier clean-up.) Cook onions and garlic in the pan with oil till browned, then toss over ribs. Combine the cola, ketchup, mustard, salt and pepper, mix well and pour over ribs. Bake at 350 degrees F for 2 hours.
