Maple Pecan Pie

  • 1/3 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/3 tsp. salt
  • 3 slightly beaten large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup pure maple syrup (OR 1 cup corn syrup)
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • whipped cream (optional)
Cream butter and sugar.
Add slightly beaten eggs.
Stir in other ingredients.
Pour mixture into a pastry-lined pie plate
Bake in preheated 425 degree F. oven for 10 minutes.
Turn down heat to 350 degrees and bake for 30-35 minutes more, until it looks done.
Remove from oven and cool on rack.
Garnish with whipped cream and sprinkle with extra toasted pecans, if desired, before serving.
